April 21, 2018 - Wild Plants - Lake Fayetteville

Foraging Wild Ozark Medicinal Herbs
Date: Saturday April 21st
Time: 9am - ? (11am or later, but you can stop anytime)
Location: Lake Fayetteville, Veteran’s Park Entrance 
​WHERE TO MEET: Meet at: Lake Fayetteville - paved trail, the entrance in Veteran's Park off of Zion Rd. From Hwy 71, go east on Zion Road and then go left on N. Vantage Drive. Vantage drive loops around Veterans Memorial Park, FYI. Parking is by the paved trail, but you'll need to head over to the dirt trail, not far from the Pavillion (You'll see us from the Pavillion). BRING PLENTY WATER and any snacks you may want. Please dress for the weather! If it's storming we will not be going out.

Cost: Suggested donation $5, but scholarships available if you email Cat prior to class.

April 28, 2018 - Tri Cycle Farms

Herbal Preparations: Tinctures, vinegars, and extracts

Join us to learn about readily available, native Ozark medicinal plants and how to create some easy herbal preparations. In this class we will be learning about how to make both alcohol and vinegar based tinctures/extracts at home. Brandon is knowledgeable in the folklore surrounding these “yarbs” (herbs) and has many interesting tales and histories to share with us as well. Join us for this colorful lesson and sample some tasty brews like fire cider and elderberry ginger sipping vinegar.

May 12, 2018 - Tri Cycle Farms

Herbal Preparations: Salves and oils 

Join us as we take a look at some easy to make Ozark herbal preparations. In this class we will be learning how to combine medicinal herbs with different oils and fats to create your own salves and balms. Already made salves and oils will be available to purchase and a recipe packet will be provided that has some wonderful ideas for you to try at home. We'll also be taking a look at some of the many native “yarbs” (herbs) that grow in our Ozark Mountain area (and maybe even your own backyard!) Brandon is knowledgeable in the folklore surrounding these plants and has many interesting tales and histories to share with us as well.

Making Herbal Tinctures & Extracts
