Red cedar (Juniperus virginiana) has long been a friend of Ozarkers. Many uses of this juniper came with settlers from the highland regions of Europe. These traditions then blended with those from Indigenous peoples of the Southeast, who had been using this amazing plant for thousands of years. In this class, we will explore the many magical and medicinal uses of red cedar amongst Ozark healers and how we can bring this plant into our own practice today.
